Cheryl Wilcox Schuermann

Graduated from OSU with BS and MS in Education. Taught school for years (learning disabilities and elementary reading specialist.) In 2000, I began consulting and worked with several schools across the country--from Glendale, AZ to the hills and hollers of eastern KY. Consulted part-time with Oklahoma schools (traveling wasn't fun anymore!) Now retired, writing full time, and enjoying the thirteen grands!

Published books: When the Water Runs: Growing Up With Alaska details my mother's childhood growing up in Northern Alaska. I also had the privilege of writing a children's biography about Dr. Jordan Tang, medical research scientist at OMRF, for the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.

Stan and I have been involved in lay church ministry since the 70s and have led a fellowship of parents at Wildwood Community Church in Norman for twenty-two years. We co-authored a book for parents, Raising Kids for Tomorrow's World: 12 Keys to Preserving the Faith (Spring 2022). I do recall (when I was co-editor of our senior yearbook) releasing green chickens in the hallways at Edison as a special treat for our rival yearbook staff. Did I imagine that??
